FAQ

Common questions, real answers

Mostly about men's-league play. If you have a question that isn't here, ask us — we'll add it.

Is this only for men's leagues?

No, but that's our wedge. The platform was built around weekly men's-night play (skins, gross/net, handicaps, payouts), so that's what works best out of the box. The same platform also runs your tee sheets, pro shop, snack bar, junior clinics, member directory, and so on — those are per-club opt-in. Most clubs start with the league and turn on the rest over time.

How do I sign up?

Onboarding is sales-led — contact us via the form below and we'll set your club up personally, including a 14-day trial to verify everything's configured the way you want before billing starts. We don't have an open self-serve signup because we want to spend time configuring your flights, payouts, and skins rules correctly the first time.

How long is the trial?

14 days from the moment we set up your club. Your club is fully functional during the trial — no credit card required during it. After 14 days you pick a plan and your card is charged. We never auto-charge without a plan being explicitly chosen.

Do you do GHIN handicaps?

Club-method handicaps (best 6 of 12) are built in — that's what most weekly men's leagues actually use. Members can also store their GHIN # and current index on their profile so the pro shop can see it. Auto-sync from the USGA system is on the roadmap.

Can you run a member-guest or club championship?

Yes. Tournament brackets (4 / 8 / 16 / 32 players) for single-elimination match play are built in — pick your bracket size + seed order and the bracket auto-generates with standard seeding. Stroke-play tournaments use the same scoring flow as a league night. We also support Stableford points format for events that want it.

Can players pay with their phone?

Yes. Round dues, season dues, and tournament entry all go through Stripe Apple Pay / Google Pay / card on the player's phone. Funds settle to your club's Stripe account daily.

Who collects the money — you or us?

Right now the platform processes payments and routes them to your club's Stripe Connect account. Stripe handles compliance and PCI. We never touch your members' card data.

Are there transaction fees on player payments?

There's a 3% pass-through fee on player payments — round dues, season dues, tee-time prepay, store purchases. It covers Stripe's standard processing (~2.9% + 30¢); AmaTour takes no markup. The player sees and pays the fee at checkout (clearly labeled in the payment sheet); your club still receives the full base amount. Our revenue is the monthly subscription only — we don't profit on transactions.

Can the same person be a player at multiple clubs?

Yes. The mobile app shows a club picker on launch when you belong to more than one. Switch clubs anytime from your profile screen.

Can players see each other's data across clubs?

No. Every row of data is scoped to an organization with Postgres row-level security. It's enforced at the database, not just the app layer. Even a bug in our app code can't leak one club's data into another. More on the architecture →

What happens to my data if I cancel?

It stays in the database for 90 days, fully exportable. After 90 days we hard-delete on request. You can also export everything (rounds, payouts, ledger) as CSV any time from the admin.

Do you offer annual pricing?

Yes — contact us for an annual contract across any module set. Roughly 15% off vs. monthly.

Can I run a tournament series, not just weekly events?

Yes. Events can be either 'weekly' or 'tournament' type. Tournaments support entry fees, distinct payout splits, and 9 or 18 holes. We also support multi-event series — admin picks N events and a scoring mode (sum-all or best-N), and standings aggregate live. Useful for spring/fall series and order-of-merit-style standings.

What else can the club platform do beyond the league?

Once the league is running, the same login surfaces everything else: tee sheets + reservation queue, pro shop catalog + order requests, snack bar + kitchen orders, course conditions board, locker / bag-room management, junior clinic registration, dining + caddie reservations, member directory, photo wall, hole-in-one wall, pace-of-play dashboard, yardage book with pro tips, trial-round invites for prospects, and monthly statement exports. Every feature is per-club opt-in.

Do you have an Android app?

Yes — the same Expo-based mobile app ships to both iOS and Android via app stores. Players install it from their store.

Do you have a refund policy?

Yes. Cancel any time and you won't be charged again. We don't issue refunds for the partial month you're in, but you keep access until the end of the billing period.

Can the head pro see everything?

Yes. Admins (and Owners) see all players, all rounds, all payouts. Players only see their own data plus public leaderboards. We don't expose other players' credit balances or payment history.
